There should be a law, perhaps phrased as preservation of culture or something, that forbids remakes and reboots outside of the original spirit of the material.
I used to hate the "there ought to be a law" types, but then I realized:

Well yeah. Leftists, which is to say satanists, believe that any power unclaimed is theirs.
Yeah at this point it's basically a law to force any new works to contain rampant wokeness.
I'd rather they fear organic reprisal from the populace than the government. The less power the government has the better, as a general rule.
