Yeah, fully agree everything that came after was woke bullshit. I mean, the original LiS had a bunch of woke nonsense in it, too, but it was set at a private art school in the pacific northwest. If anything, it made the environment more realistic.
Agree to disagree about the ending, though. AFAIK the devs have confirmed there's a "canon" decision (the really stupid decision), but that's after the fact. It's Dumbledore is gay in its importance for how I experienced the story. I thought it was risky to offer a choice in how the game ends, but I like it. The essence of the game is built on really key decision points and how the player handles them... but the ending just comes down to a simple emotional choice. I liked it, B/B+ game -- I did not see the twist coming.
My issue with the ending is how both paths invalidate anything you have done up until now. I've saved the fat chick multiple times from harm, yet when I give up the Bay she alongside everyone else dies. If I give up Chloe it has never happened. It's the laser beam ending from ME3 all over again.
I agree with the game being solid overall, you did feel how it fits the setting and it was right at the precipice of when games turned super woke. I just wish there was a better ending, the canonical good ending also doesn't seem like the correct choice. I love Chloes step dad though, actually solid guy who deserves some recognition imho.
Don't forget the shitty ending and even shitter sequels where Trump supporters are the villain and poor poor immigrants the heroes.
