Well, does your thermostat have a decimal? Because all the ones I'm seeing on google images show decimals except the Designed in California™ ones where C was an afterthought anyway.
A whole degree F is detectable, but barely, a whole degree C is big enough you'll sometimes want to use fractions of it.
Imperial is just a better fit for everyday life, like GP was saying. That's why we're talking about everyday life here and you say 'well for chemistry zero is easier'. No shit, because you can't well argue it's better for everyday life.
Notice that you didn't answer the question about your thermostat. Because you know it does and why.
Maybe you should have opened with, "sure imperial is a little better for everyday life, but it's not worth learning two systems". Then you wouldn't have to dodge and pretend on these everday points where imperial is superior and we could have come to agreement from the start.
I think what you meant to say was that you won't admit that imperial is better in everyday life.
Because I really don't think anyone would be this obstinate otherwise. Do I have to spell out "your thermostat... or the last one you saw or your neighbor's or the nearest one to you or call your pappy and ask him". Jesus Christ.
Anyway just keep this in mind next time you hear somebody say a temp with decimal or see it displayed, how dumb and nerdy they must be to be using the totally unnecessary tenths place.
It's not even that big of a deal which is why it's so comical to be this defensive about it. People get by fine with celsius, it's just a bit less convenient is all.
