WoW's early days are some of my best memories. I have never played a game that big before, or with that many people, and to this day still have not found one that catches me the same way. I dread thinking that I never will again.
I want to say the Lich King to Mists of Pandaria era were my favorite, even with Cataclysm being included in that span. ~11 months of the Dragonsoul raid was a bit much. I specify this segment of time because it was when I was leaving high school and got my first job. For the first time in my life I felt like I was truly enjoying myself, and I had been in a raid guild for a long time which I had grown to like a lot, and made many internet-friends.
Warlords of Draenor was very boring, but I didn't hate it exactly. I also got very rich from all the Mission Table stuff in the Garrison, so that helped to ease my annoyance. It's also the first time I enjoyed PvP a lot with Ashran, another often-criticized addition. I also ended up really liking Legion since I had one of everything at max level and very much enjoyed playing around with all their new spell changes from their Artifact weapons.
Nothing quite compares to that sweet spot I first mentioned, though. It's a little time capsule I'll carry with me for the rest of my life.
