If there was room in Sociology for conservatives (and to be clear: there is not), I would title a chapter in my Dissertation on the effects of fatherlessness "Where has Carl Winslow gone?" (media representation matters, right libs?)
But you could also apply the same rhetorical question to perceptions of police officers, especially minority officers. Could you imagine a TV show on today about a black cop and how he's a good, moral father figure?

I just watched a fairly recent Scooby Doo where Urkel shows up. It was really weird knowing it aired in 2019. Also, jaleel white could not sound like early Urkel at all.
