Yeah, people have a tendency to form pretty clueless commentary and feedback. Not exactly something new, save for the derpy feminist narrative. (Which isn't new either so much as more widely spread and increasingly deranged)
Regardless of the commentary, really depends on the situation and individuals. Some people clearly aren't the sort who'll handle that much attention and pressure, making it a poor decision to place them under the spotlight like that unnecessarily. Maybe the guy's just overenthusiastic and lacking tact, maybe the chick's just unstable and finally revealing her true colors.
Not sure what else there is to say, this isn't exactly a significant example of anything other run of the mill human error with a dash of retarded woke commentary.
Simply looking at the story face value and peoples' reactions It's the classic problem of you really find out how many women who aren't just 'feminists' out there actually hate men and it's not for the reasons you usually think. They obviously do not trust the man's intentions in the slightest which is why they always jump to the worse possible interpretations instead of accepting that the guy clearly had a very bad read on her and didn't know her as well as he thought he did. No, it's always the man is evil, he's doing it to manipulate her, there's always an ulterior motive.
Once you realise this you understand that a lot of women are worse than incels ever could be in their attitude towards the opposite gender and that's why it's impossible to hang out with them anymore because you can't be allowed to make any mistakes. Women in general as a result can't be shocked anymore men don't want to hang out with them, they're just not worth the risk of even forming an average social relationship with.
I really want to ask women out there sometimes if they even like hanging out with men. I know the answers wouldn't shock people here but they'd probably shock a lot of normies and I'd be accused of misogyny. If you're a woman that hates men, what's the point of you?
