I could even understand in a majority black, Asian, Hispanic area or country seeing a Santa being played by someone of that group for the kids but what we see here is malicious like you said. Sadly I’ve had to explain to a number of young people about St. Nicholas from Asia Minor
The Japanese at least have an excuse because they have their own mythology for it. Namely that Santa is a robot.
But people who live in America? No real excuse. The saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." has the barely disguised subtext of "or else get the fuck out of Rome."
That’s what I want to say when people whine about Christmas decorations and stuff. Granted it wouldn’t be Christianly to say get the eff out. Also that applies to those who endlessly talk about how oppressed they are here
