I am very much observing Argentina at the moment guys, the west is a lost cause as far as I'm concerned. I'm probably going to flee to South America like the Alliance and Horde fleeing to Kalimdor from the Burning Legion. So far in terms of policy, Milei is doing everything that I want out of a government.
He's even gone so far as to simply wipe out portions of the government itself through presidential decree because he knows his enemy and what they'll do to try and stop him. I am admittedly fanboing over him but you've got to admit this is impressive, I've never seen a 'right winger' do any of this shit, not even Trump. Got to give him credit for having the balls to do it properly.
I'm not sure about the pesos notes, that's a bit beyond me in terms of economic knowledge, I'd have to research that. However cryptocurrency contracts? Brilliant, you don't have to make any special laws with crypto, just declare it private money and make it all legal and you're good, then that way people can start building up their savings in crypto if they want to which is an infinitely better option than the out of control central banks.
Something quite funny happened with Milei as well recently with the left. They organised protests against him but apparently there wasn't as big of a turnout as they were hoping for. He also anticipated their tactics and made sure to ban roadblocks but still allowed them to protest on sidewalks to prevent them from fucking with regular people and putting them in danger. Another based move by him was he's supposedly put it into place anybody causing trouble is going to have their benefits removed.
Lots of reeeing from the left of course, but there's nothing they can do. I remember as well there was a lot of understandable concern about him thinking on open borders. If he just gets rid of any possible migrant benefits and refuses to give them money, there's no way any of them are going to show up anyway, it will only be those who actually want to at the very least work that will show up.
No, the problem doesn't solve itself. Imagine you're Argentinian and you want a better standard of living but corporations don't want to pay you more so they give great monetary incentives to Indians and Chinese to come to Argentina to work and the Indians and Chinese do work but they work for less than what you'd want to do the work for. Now you don't benefit at all from the resources in your country being exploited by corporations. Where's your gain? Corporations are getting rich off the resources in your country, foreigners are getting rich and you aren't. Where's your benefit? Not only that but the Indians and Chinese fuck your culture up. How does that benefit you? And the Indians and Chinese send the money they earn back to their home countries to support friends and family, they don't even spend it in your society. How does that benefit you?
Immigrants are rarely ever a good thing, especially immigrants of a different race than you, specifically immigrants with darker skin tones.
That all goes back to the issue of making sure the law is enforced equally and not giving any special treatment and benefits to migrants. This is something I'd absolutely brutalise on which would make even the white nationalists here do a double take because I grew up in a migrant community and I know what it's like.
Fuck around and find out should be national policy in any country, no one's got the balls though, we'll see what Milei does.
No, it doesn't go back to what you say. Corporations always hire the cheapest labor they can. People in different countries might be willing to work for a cheaper cost than Argentinians because of how bad their home country is. So what difference does enforcing the laws the same make? Absolutely none. Argentinians will still be worse off in all regards from having immigrants.
How do you think corporations get so competitive in the first place? They get massive tax breaks compared to the average individual or small business. Which then enables them to spend more fucking over their competition and hiring tons of cheap labour across the globe. Get sole traders and small businesses on the same level as corporations and they won't stand a chance because most corporation service is shit and they operate on a government enforced monopoly.
You aren't contributing anything of value to the discussion. So what that the corporations get competitive due to cheap labor. It doesn't have to be that way when you control the society. All you need to do is ensure you have people working to produce the resources in your country. The more efficient the labor the better. This can be accomplished by privatization with foreign corporations or it can be done with capital controls on ownership like in China to ensure only Chinese own the corporations or through partnerships with multinationals etc... you can set laws to make it so say 70% of labor must be domestic people and only 30% foreigners. Canada sets laws like this for natives for example. China sets similar laws themselves for Chinese people getting hired, etc...
A true "free market" with immigrants will only help foreigners and the elite capital owners. It won't help most Argentinians.
