Something we can do about it is to mock Canada/UK whenever it comes up.

"Oh you're from Canada? Canada's nice I guess but don't you wish you had free speech?" "We have free speech, it's in the Charter!!" "No I mean like actual free speech like the 1st Amendment not pretend free speech".

It should be so annoying that Canadians don't even mention their country because they'll get shamed for no free speech.
