I forgot that Texas and California are neighbors. Definitely no states in between those two who would have to join.

DFW is full of Conservatives. Fort Worth was the last American city with a population of 1m that had an elected Republican mayor. Until it was followed by a Democrat mayor who switched to Republican…which was Dallas.
