That's not what "purity culture" refers to in the United States. There is no tradition of female circumcision here. It refers to women dressing and acting a certain way to remain "pure" aka no dressing like a slut or sleeping around.
The woman is wearing an alter boy shirt. Clearly they have no fucking idea what they're doing. They just grabbed another word. I've given you the original meaning where that shirt with the stolen slogan makes sense.
Abstinence isn't rape, as we've all pointed out. So what it means in America means nothing when they're using the slogan for FGM.

No she didn't. Two completely different parts of the world used the same phrase to talk about two completely separate concepts. It happens all the time.
