Makes sense, being a philosophy of power and wealth acquisition to begin with. At a fundamental level you have to accept that the State, enacting "the will of the people" (whether it's run by a dictator or you pretend to be Democratic Socialist), may decide who will pay it taxes in tribute, and may use force to seize that wealth. It's for the greater good.

Taxation simply doesn't have to be done. And a "greater good" is debatable, which is why there should be some kind of electoral system.
