These people always remind me of the story of the grasshopper and the ant. Not the original version, with the grasshopper being a simple wastrel layabout, who dies of hunger and exposure when winter comes, no I mean the two subsequent versions, where he is turned into two types of social parasites. The first one gratefully earns his keep by providing entertainment to the ants during the winter months. In the second version it is the ants who are honored to provide food and housing to their entertainer God.
These people definitely fall into the second category. Their elitist brains and enlightened egos can't handle being in any way answerable to a group of consumers belonging either to the middle or the working class.
Never heard that second version before. Must be a very modern reiteration of it. I suppose the Grasshopper is some kind of Elvis? Maybe a fourth version is needed, which reminds us of the dangers of falling for Glamours. (The Grasshopper is found to be a ripoff artist.)
(And for version 2, the grasshopper can also play music while the ants work in the summer, or at least provide dinnertime entertainment, if he doesn't opt to just shift for himself in the woods and fields those months.)
Does it ever go thru their minds that what they made is trash?
