LOL! Hey now, I like Battlebit but I won't defend them if they haven't got private servers up yet. However what I will point out is those poor fuckers are on Unity and they're a three man team and I happen to know what a nightmare multiplayer networking is on that engine so I'm somewhat sympathetic to them on a professional level. I were them I'd get a bunch of autists porting over to Godot immediately and then they'd probably have a way easier time dealing with stuff like that. Everyone involved in Unity got fucked over including me.
They got "private" servers, it's just that they require it to be whitelisted in order to join their main server and even then the progress is disabled, which even if unity mp is a pain in the ass (i know tried to dabbled with it a bit) this is merely the server list repeater, it's should only be add setting saying non official sever and then add it to filter list. It is as basic as it gets .
Edit: The guides are out date for setting up servers. Progression is now allowed, fucking discord having all info, Sorry for pushing this.
Yea, Throw up a simple text webpage should not be something hard to do, where you got the data up to date instead having it in discord post and discussions, and no search is not your friend,
I totally understand the frustration. I can't help it I'm sorry it's just I'm a dev as well so I know what they're probably dealing with. I think you're right though, something like a basic page on their game in a help section somewhere would be perfectly straightforward to do. One of the things I was properly double checking in Godot was how to make a scrolling page so I could dump a load of information in if I want to, a bit weird they haven't done that, it may be worth suggesting that to them on discord. They've proven pretty receptive to feedback so far.
