Painting the opposition as inhuman monsters whose only desire is irrational genocide so that they're totally justified in killing them all and taking their stuff?

That's completely unjustified. The folks living in the kibbutzes had it coming.
The Hamas charter (quoting Muhammad): The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him."
I can't think of anything more rational than this.
