boy was that a mistake. If there's a hobby you like, ,its always best to keep it niche, lest the mainstream completely ruins it and the hobby's communities as well

Everyone's already posted up good points lol the thing that really struck me though is how all the music genre nerds who acted like elitists when their favourite music went mainstream and were hated on for being hipsters were actually right. I bet there are whole genres that old school music types have felt been completely ruined now because it's all been mainstreamed for normies. Any time this shit gets popular, it gets changed to cater to the lowest common denominator.
People need to learn how to gatekeep the fuck out of anything new now in order to prevent history from repeating itself.
Literally the start and end of the argument. If it caters to everyone, it's good for no one.
Our mistake was thinking our niche interests were unpopular because people didn't know about it, rather than because they had unique aspects nobody else was looking for.
