It’s the ugly side of cognitive dissonance. You usually only see cases this bad in women, “POCs” and the LGBTQ. When given objective evidence that counters their worldview someone who can’t rationalize that “their side” isn’t completely perfect in every way must rationalize how objective evidence against them exists. This showcases in usually two ways 1. That the evidence is a fabrication and those using it or even willing to discuss it are inherently evil and wish them harm or 2. The only reason “their side” could be/do/have x is because the other side is oppressive and “their side” was pushed into because the other side is… once again inherently evil and wishes them harm.
