I get your point, but in normalizing such an extreme response we open the door for that extreme response to be used on us.

I wish everyone thought like you.

I don't believe such thinking always holds up against an opponent who will violate every standard and create any precedent to destroy you, but it's the kind of thinking a stable and rational civilization needs.
