yes they do. although they are all quite frustrated they haven't made more headway into real positions of power despite their money. Gen-X-ers with money. They almost all happen to be gay or women too. Tongue in cheek they are referred to as the gay nerd industrial complex. Marc Andreessen Peter Thiel and such.
They're all weird, rich, and do not believe in the republic, Hamilton, Washington, or any of the core founding values of the USA (nationalism, protectionism, a republic and never a democracy with universal voting)
If you're a futurist of any kind, you probably don't believe in democracy. When you're a libertarian, you don't try to push people but rather align incentives so that they kind of end up doing the right thing. Democracy doesn't work when it devolves to a contest of raiding the treasury, as has been seen many times worldwide. So I understand looking at what's going on democratically and being like this could never work to secure us a bright future.
You can't throw in a bunch of different people and expect them to get along democratically. For controlling those disparate masses, you need some other kind of government.
