Soldiers seem to have no problem finding women. However, they have significant problems keeping those women after marriage. I work in a company that works closely with the military and often hires those who are/were military spouses. I work with multiple women who got married very early (one was 19 years old) and divorced their enlisted husbands after having kids.
Divorce is frighteningly common in the military and military-adjacent workplaces, and it disgusts me. It is treated as status quo for the women.
They were sent by their parents to hang out at the gates of the base and pick up whatever they could. That newly minted E1 thinks he has life together with his training and steady paycheck. It's a match made in camo heaven.
