Jimmy Dore actually has a surprisingly good news podcast. It's almost funny watching him expose government incompetence and corruption on a near daily basis (Maui, Ukraine, the jab, Biden's crime family...) only to have him conclude that government should be fixing these things.
The alternate douche that's been hosting recently is far worse though. He just hates the United States and finds a way to blame everything on the US or white people.
Jimmy is open to being wrong on most subjects, except police. He's got some baggage with his dad / family all being cops. Not that I'm a fan of cops as a whole.
The guest host lately, Craig, he's ok. I guess I've missed the 'white people bad' stuff, but he does have a hate boner for US govt.
You kind of hinted at it, but both of them, most of 'the left' in general, rail against government, only to demand more of it. I'll never understand that logic. I think what they really mean is, 'additional government we gain control of' versus blanket, more government.
Personally I'd axe 95% of DC bureacracy and departments.
the people are the problem. the system is a mess, but I would take it 100% as-is if our politicians were nationalists and protectionists instead of foreign-owned grifters, women, and non-white foreigners who don't even know what America is.
The most egregious bit that I'm thinking of is when he started defending the diversity hire who was doing "equity-based water distribution" on Maui on the basis that he was just being thrown under the bus by the powers that be because he was a native that cared about about the natives.
I'm just sitting there thinking, "bitch, he was the powers that be."
I know what you're talking about. I remember his before (trip) and after trip videos on that. I gave him some benefit of the doubt because he was out there talking to people on the ground. However, it's bullshit. That guy was spouting commie talking points with no gun to his head. He was an activist thru and thru, nothing to do with caring about native's water, as under his tenure %50+ of it was going to Oprah and golf courses anyhow. Fuck that.
Anyhow I figured he talked to the locals, and they weren't raging at the guy, so he cooled his jets. Yet, it's inauthentic to say the water board guy wasn't an identitarian to begin with, and that influenced his incompetence, or more likely malfeasance.
IIRC, after Craig "Pasta" Jardula returned from his Lahaina trip, he discovered by talking to locals that after years of lobbying, they were about to sign an agreement to reroute some of the water that had been historically deprived from the area back.
But apparently the fires broke out literally the day the agreement was supposed to be made official, erasing all that progress.
Jardula also helped to provide some context to that native Hawaiian water board manager clip whereas Jimmy and Kurt had simply used it as fake news/ragebait at the time of the fire, presenting the clip as though it was contemporary.
I agree that I'm not sure that I believe the whole of Jardula's pro-native Hawaiian narrative. But he does deserve credit for dropping everything and flying to Hawaii on his own over the Labor Day weekend.
He has also been keeping some of the reporting on the Lahaina fires alive where it's pretty obvious that even people whom originally reported on it like Jimmy have grown tired and moved on.
I've watched some of Jardula's own content since he started hosting on Jimmy's show. On his own channel, he's more openly an advocate for "there's no electoral solution to our problems through voting". So there's some horseshoe theory common ground there as well with the right even if Jardula clearly has some leftist activist leanings.
