"A flash in the pan like it's author's career"
Oh I'm sorry, are we talking about the author of the book series that was in every school ever? The Philosopher's Stone (the first book, published in 1997) sold over 120 million copies. Or the game that came out a whole decade after the movie trilogy that spawned from said franchise, that actually sold so well it hit the steam top 10 for a few months?
Y'know, the one we're still talking about, 26 years later?
Nice gotcha there.
I don't even like the book series, but come on. It was the big thing for like 10 years. Kids were anticipating the book faire so they could get the next one.
The Netflix series that refused to hire the og cast because they turned on JKR has an entirely new audience. I never read the books, or saw the movies. But, I agree with JKR.
120 million copies.
12 billion people upon Earth.
Across the jungles, tundras, savannahs, cities, suburbs, praries, mountains, and forests, 1 in 100 people to live upon this Earth have owned (not read, these things get both passed around AND pirated, that number is far higher, but fully legally owned) Harry Potter 1.
Or for a different perspective, more than 1% of the population own Harry Potter. Less than 1% of the population is trans. It makes more sense on a logistical level to make laws that favor and cater to Harry Potter book owners, than transsexuals.
"Flash in the pan". Hah.
