I just assume all sales numbers are fake. Game sales stats have been futzed with all the way back to the 90s, the NYT "Bestseller" lists gets gamed hard, and I really doubt Amazon's sales numbers.

Vanity games are an obvious money laundering scheme. So long as it graphically looked nice for the year, he could make anything and make a profit.
