A friend of mine who I have known for 20+ years decided recently he was a woman.
If he speaks to me about, say, cooking I will listen to him if what he says makes sense on its face.
If he speaks to me about what it means to be a man or woman, he has obviously ceded any ability to be taken seriously due to a serious (and unfortunate) malfunction in his person.
Even if he was telling me "yeah that guy's faking it", well I think you're faking it, so I'm not really sure what to do with that information other than applying it in equal measure to his situation.
I've only seen him once after he decided all this, so I'm not exactly sure what his expectations are. Though he changed his name and everyone else calls him "she", so I'm guessing there's at least a soft expectation.
This man screams mental illness, and I feel like Blaire would not deny that? So, yes, mentally ill people are quite capable of making good points and even contributing to society. Sometimes it's the role of the sage to be detached from reality, so he can see things from a different perspective. Wisdom out of the mouths of people who "see things" is nothing new.
Agreed. And the Jazz Jennings thing is just sad. I remember first hearing about his story and thinking that it wouldn’t go anywhere and I didn’t take the trans thing seriously because of how absurd it was. Never realized it would dominate media
I just can’t help thinking this is a man who thinks he is a woman.
It's more of a "they know it" kind of thing in regards to the ones who have enough braincells to reject the regressive left including gender theory, & abandon support for transition being legal.
He makes good points for sure. I just can’t help thinking this is a man who thinks he is a woman. But he makes good points
