Every time they bitch about this remind them how they voted. If the complain remind them again. Keep reminding them until they get the message this is their own fault and you are not their agony aunt.
When I want to be a smart Alec I just say “but at least there are no mean tweets”. Similar situation with a Christian cousin who complained about the lgbt agenda being pushed. I said you voted for it. He was like well I didn’t vote for that.
If I'm chatting a complete stranger but I have to stick around for more than 5 minutes, sure I'll validate their nonsense before leaving for the bathroom. I'm not usually evasive but I have a visceral distaste for pedestrian gossip and template banter, especially when it seeps into serious topics.
Friends or family (younger than 65), I'll let them dig a hole before countering.
