That's what keeps Valve printing money.
Sure, but what does that have to do with the quality of the jannies? As the meme goes, often time the worst jannies do it for free anyway. So I'm not sure what CS:GO cases have to do with forum mods.
Because Valve can pretty much sit on that money printer until lootboxes become illegal.
If it didn't exist, they'd actually have to try to retain users.
