The accused has to make a decision to divulge a password, whereas biometrics are parts of the body, to use them doesn't require the accused to make a decision.
I will just say this, that if your innocence or guilt depends on the ability of the government to unlock a device, you are doing it wrong. Information in your head can't be divulged by force in criminal proceedings.
