Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I'm still pissed off at all the good restaurants that got driven out of business because of covid. Places that had been around for fucking decades, places that people took their kids to on sunday - gone, just like that, for no fucking reason.
All they have to do is tie mandates to getting gubmint money. Oh, you don't want to enforce masks in your grocery store? No WIC reimbursement for you, then.
I imagine it's less a conspiracy and more that alot of international real estate magnates have a horde of slush funds they keep on hand to automatically buy up suddenly free land post disaster.
You see it in hurricane areas. Immediately once the storm passes, they get people flooding in to buy up choice areas.
