Make no mistake. Joe Biden got at least 70 million votes. In a fair election he wouldn't have gotten 270, but it was much closer than I expected.
Lesson #1 : The riots worked. Political violence by the Left, against the Left, persuades the Left. Every place that had major rioting swung Left. This is because in their environment, Centrists and Rightists fled, and the radical Leftists looked like the winning side. Thus, the Left votes for whomever is on the winning side. This is not replicated on the political right. The political right responds to political violence with blowback and aggression. The political left responds to political violence with submission if a larger resistance movement can't be organized.
Lesson #2 : There was no political division among the Left (both because of Trump hate, and because of the power of the riots). Third party candidate votes vanished in 2020. That means every Socialist, Green, Communist, Anarchist, Progressive, and Liberal voted Joe Biden. It is absolutely true that no one voted for Biden, but did vote against Trump. Every Antifa member rioting in Portland is lying about not voting. All of them voted Biden. No exceptions.
Lesson #3 : The power of the media is waning, but it is only a wounded lion. It's still 3 orders of magnitude stronger than the strongest thing anyone who is a dissident has. Anderson Cooper has the power of 5 Tucker Carlson's put together, I shit you not. The narratives that were spun were accepted at face value without question. Kyle Rittenhouse shot 4 black people. Donald Trump blamed Chinese people for spreading the virus. Biden invented the vaccine. There were no riots by BLM, none. The masks are safe and effective. The lockdowns are legal and necessary. Vaccinated people aren't protected against the virus if they get it from unvaccinated people.

I had people I know tell me that the hospitals would be overwhelmed by Covid patients in 3 days, at a rate that was 7 times higher than the highest rate of Covid pandemic in our state. I had this same person tell me that Omicron was especially lethal to children, and that children died at the highest rate. I had a family member tell me that there is no political Left in the US. They also told me that universities are primarily right wing. I had a co-worker tell me that the whole right-wing focus on Drag Queen Story Hour and Queer Theory was just the right going to strip clubs to harass drag performers. I had someone hand me an MSNBC article about how the injections prevented people from getting infected with Covid, and then I had to read their own article back to them to explain how it said nothing of the sort.
People who read the propaganda exist in an alternate reality. People who just absorb the propaganda, don't read any details and are living entirely off the framing of stories. The political Left is so lost in the fucking sauce that there is no reason to have speeches at all. Words are a waste of time, just make emotional noises, and it would be a more honest explanation of how people are taking in information.
So, did Biden win the election legitimately? No. Are a huge swathe of Americans entirely captured to a deranged ideology which means they don't even live in the real world? Yes. Did those people vote in 2020? Yup. Will they vote in 2024? Yup.
The question is: will the Left commit enough political violence against the Left to promote the Left into pouring into the voting booths, err.... mail boxes.
