I think the takeaway from the success of these movies is that competence will make money. sure the Mario movie had a woke feminist Peach, Spider-Man was full of woke nonsense and character retcons, and the Barbie movie was indulgently feminist, but all three of those movies had good execution, good acting, coherent stories, and excellent production value. at the end of the day, that's what general audiences want.
