Forget teenagehood, once they're grown, they will leave the house and never look back.

This is the woman who never hears from her kids and complains that no one cares about her.

They'll show up for family reunions and not talk to her. She won't see the problem until they start admitting to stuff and she wasn't around to take care of it then.
