If I could make an acurate, functional replica of a car without taking someone else's car away, I'd download a car too.
The ''copyright infringement is stealing'' false equivalence aside, in my jurisdiction, only profiting from distribution of copyrighted material gets you charged.
I think every car enthusiast out there would love the ability to print parts that need replacing.
Especially classic/vintage car enthusiasts, who already have to machine their own shit.

Let me rephrase : here, there is no legal basis nor ''legislating from the bench with jurisprudence'' to extract money or inflict penalty on someone who downloaded and shared a copyrighted work without aim to profit from it.
Basically, the ''you can't sue someone for recording a song on the radio and sharing a copy of it to someone'' was extended to filesharing.
