Isn't this old news? Swear there was a post about this months ago...
And I'll reiterate what I said then, the African thing is stupid given how many Africans were in Asia in general at that time so using one as a shinobi is stupid, there were a few cases of female samauri but they'd be better as a Shinobi ironically as women can easily access certain areas most men can't so make effective spies and assassins.
They could have the women be a geisha (disguised as one, I guess she would be a kunoichi) and make it a far less actiony style of stealth game reminiscente of the times you would use blending in to a crowd in those games as opposed to running around and hiding in a bush.
Then have the black dude as a samurai as some daimyo's pet project like those people who get the same pet as a president. His style would be the more actiony one.
Then have a japanese dude that is the middle ground and is the properly trained, big clan, shinobi.
Sadly now I'm picturing a game that will probably be 10 times better with story from 3 distinct walks of life that could depict ancient cultures and the differences in how the people around you would react to the various characters.
The male ninja would have a mix of both so you could always just play him actiony. But I see your point. I just hate that storytelling is dying when it doesn't have to.

the downfall with this style is that you would have to play as a negro to get the action playstyle
