I've almost been ran over by company vehicles more in the past 5 years than my entire life before then combined, and every time it's a diversity hire. If it were random it would be one thing, but the thing is they're not even distracted while driving, they're literally just too slow mentally to think a couple steps ahead of what's happening in front of them.
On Monday I was pulling out of the grocery store, three lanes, left turn, right turn and oncoming, I'm turning left.
Another car is waiting to turn left into the lot, so I'm waiting and this African guy pulls up, trying to get in turning right. Not even a semi, just a 17', maybe 20' truck.
He's got the right of way, but he stops dead and starts shaking his arms at me to go because he can't make the corner, but I'm waiting on the other car and the other car is waiting on him.
Might be forgivable but there's a dedecated left turn lane right beside him. Instead of using it to give himself the space to make the turn, he's just hugging the curb so that he'll need at least two of the parking lot lanes. Bear in mind this is three in the afternoon and the place is packed.
Eventually I edge my way out and escape the mexican standoff.
They just can't plan. They have no ability to anticipate so they drive like they're in a Corolla. There was also another entrace to the plaza about fifty meters down the road, which was not directly beside the busy grocery store, but I guess that option wasn't even considered.
No driving laws, licenses, lights, or signs in Africa so you'd think they'd be more cautious drivers. Idk how many times a Somalian pulls right out into traffic without even trying to see if they have room, and expect the whole world to stop for them.
