Yeah, the fucking fantasy larping feminists always act like this is a dig at women and calling them weak. Are you kidding? Any of us who actually train and know what we're on about aren't bullshit artists, hell, my style Shotokan is based around the idea of not using physical strength but body weight to deflect blows.
If I were up against somebody bigger than me and I didn't use my style properly or some other technique I'd probably get my arse kicked. That's where technique comes into it, I fucking hate these people because as others have accurately described them they're effectively cultists who trick their students into thinking they're more powerful than they really are. Back in the day it was bullshit like channeling your spiritual energy to knock your opponent out, now they've gone on a feminist bent and are trying to tell tiny 5 foot women with no muscle that they can lift a great sword.
On that note about spiritualism, that's why I love this guy as he took all those Chinese 'masters' and beat the shit out of them with MMA
These feminists are the ones that would employ marching at an enemy when they are in trenches with machine guns and barbed wire than adapting and either trying to just evade being bogged down in that or counting it with tanks.
It sucks because there will be legit branches out there and I've ranted about this phenomenon on other parts of the internet especially to explain to the MMA guys out there who are understandable sceptics of various styles. When it comes to the traditional styles especially they become the victims of politics, people just want to get belts and boast about how they're an '4th Dan' in Karate.
The dojos who just hand out belts and don't train their students properly are the ones who get all the numbers and they're the ones who get to make all the decisions at the heads of these associations that get formed. As a result, the standards are shit and that's exactly what will be going on with these Chinese 'kung fu masters' and others. They very much operate like a syndicate almost.
Bit of a rant about martial arts, but the same will apply here with learning about medieval sword play and shit like that. Don't go for the ones that are trying to make it a business because their goal is to just get as many bodies in as possible and likely won't really teach much.
