I hope this time Nintendo doesn't fix what isn't broken and go galaxy brain. Just keep the dockable portable gaming device, but replace with a better chip + more faster RAM. DLSS (the temporal upscaling part, not the bullshit frame interpolation part) will help with power savings on handheld mode and increasing fidelity on docked mode.
If the Nintendo accounts are truly cross-platform, then I hope that also means Switch 1 games are 100% backwards compatible.
I don't know much about the switch, but isn't it basically a mobile phone? I suspect they are going to do exactly as you say and just use a new generation of commercially available IP. They're not gonna design another PowerPC like they did for the Gamecube.
I know it's ARM, but isn't it more than superficially similar to a phone otherwise? That was just my impression the first time I read about it. I don't even remember why I thought that.
Oic it's a Tegra. Yeah I don't know how much success Nvidia had with those in phones. I think they intended it for that, though.

I guess you mean to ask if the Switch uses ARM (which mobile phones also use) which the answer to that is yes.

It's more akin to a tablet, imo since the Switch doesn't have cellular capabilities.
