Might just be one of the reasons mods get banned or he got caught up in the clusterfuck.

I visited a subreddit that was linked somewhere in those discussions (IIRC r/interestingasfuck) and it was 80% people complaining about porn and 20% porn. Which I found odd until I saw a comment in the archived thread above that mods were encouraging people to post porn to formerly SFW subs in protest.
