That is the dumbest thing I've read from a lawyer since this from a court transcript about 15 years or so ago.

Lawyer: "Are you sure he was dead when you did the autopsy?"

Coroner: "His brain was on my desk."

Lawyer: "But were you certain he was dead?"

Coroner: "Are you.... He's serious your honor? ... It might be possible he was alive and practicing law in this state."
