his years-long fixation with Islam and the Muslim community, his attacks on pandemic restrictions and COVID-19 science, and his close and enduring relationships with some of the most prominent anti-trans activists in Canada.
and both before and during Furey’s tenure, the site put an aggressive focus on culture war issues like drag queen story hours, trans activism and so-called “woke” politics.
He speaks against leftism, thus he very bad man. Very bad.
The @TorontoStar, predictably, has done another hatchet job on my former @TheTorontoSun colleague @anthonyfurey who is running for mayor. As a former Sun colleague of his I was interviewed, at the reporter's request, but they only quoted people who attacked him.
Since I didn't make the cut what I told the Star was @anthonyfurey is a good guy, that he's a hard worker, that he doesn't panic or change his views when the heat is on and that I like his political platform which is why I voted for him in the advance poll.
The reporter told me a couple of people who had worked with Anthony agreed with my description of him as a nice guy. Nothing in the column. The reporter suggested a difference between how Anthony presents in person vs his columns, but that's true of all columnists, including me.
"Let's make him look like a mob boss and pretend he's hiding his views which are in his 35-page campaign platform we didn't read."
'Also, don't quote anyone who had something positive to say about Anthony even though some people we interviewed did have positive things to say. Don't even mention them. Pretend they don't exist even though we went to them and asked them for their views about Anthony.'
Idk for whom that post title is framed. I would respect a politician lot more if he ran a hard right website. He might even totally deserve this for being a middle line cuck and effectively threatening to nix a real conservative vote. At least based on the totality of what I know about him, which is that he doesnt run a hard right website and might be interested in proving that he doesnt.
tl:dr
He speaks against leftism, thus he very bad man. Very bad.

Toronto Star, er, 'profiles' TO mayor candidates:
'Olivia Chow is the great organizer of the left'
'Ana Bailao is a consensus builder'
'Brad Bradford has admirers who call him a natural leader'
Anthony Furey: 'The Provocateur: Ex-pundit dodging questions on his right-wing views'
so he's the only qualified choice then
I don't know all 100+ people running for mayor, but he seems to be.
True North is run by Candice Malcolm, Fury was a contributor and VP of editorial and content (currently on leave due to running for mayor) https://tnc.news/2022/10/18/anthony-furey-joins/
