The @TorontoStar, predictably, has done another hatchet job on my former @TheTorontoSun colleague @anthonyfurey who is running for mayor. As a former Sun colleague of his I was interviewed, at the reporter's request, but they only quoted people who attacked him.
Since I didn't make the cut what I told the Star was @anthonyfurey is a good guy, that he's a hard worker, that he doesn't panic or change his views when the heat is on and that I like his political platform which is why I voted for him in the advance poll.
The reporter told me a couple of people who had worked with Anthony agreed with my description of him as a nice guy. Nothing in the column. The reporter suggested a difference between how Anthony presents in person vs his columns, but that's true of all columnists, including me.

Toronto Star, er, 'profiles' TO mayor candidates:
'Olivia Chow is the great organizer of the left'
'Ana Bailao is a consensus builder'
'Brad Bradford has admirers who call him a natural leader'
Anthony Furey: 'The Provocateur: Ex-pundit dodging questions on his right-wing views'
so he's the only qualified choice then
I don't know all 100+ people running for mayor, but he seems to be.
