Sorry for the low effort post but on a whim I decided to go check and what a bunch of faggots. Can they be any more cucked? Holy shit...
Also haven't been to r KiA in like three years, but god damn, playing their silly little reddit games like they're part of the reddit community, fuck... what a disgrace.
I'm not up to date on this, but why is this bad?
It's symbolic of being unified with the rest of Reddit in a common goal against the administration, despite the KIA subs being black sheep that mainstream Reddit openly shits on for being "far right" etc. and would happily scapegoat or sacrifice. It looks like pandering and dissembling behaviour from a simp bitch.
Both 'the rest of Reddit' and 'the administration' are absolute garbage, but divisions can be used to the advantage of communities like KiA.
By no means do I unconditionally defend the KiA moderators, and the current head mod I find particularly obnoxious, but I wouldn't automatically think that this is 'pandering' to anyone.
Ahh damn man, I always liked you, why you gotta do me like that.
Reddit is making API changes which will kill off third party apps. Traffic to KiA is around about 40% from third party apps. This will force everyone onto the first party apps which suck. While ultimately it will do nothing and the admins will ignore it, its the only way to say "this is stupid" to them.
The API changes are explicitly not going to affect mod tools or the ban bots that are running around autobanning users for participating in subs so all this does is force people onto the first party apps. I think this eventually will lead to the death of old reddit as well.
What's wrong with what I said? It's pretty balanced and I'm actually defending the KiA moderators, even though that is a very unpopular position.
Sounds to me like shutting down is good. Because killing competition will only result in the worsening of quality.
But who uses 'apps' (data-gathering software done easy) in the first place? I just use a browser.
As you know, subreddit mods are often the ones who lead the charge against problem subs and get them taken down. This is a way for KIA mods to say, "hey leftist mods, look at us, we share common ground with you against spez et al., look how reasonable we are in joining forces with you! Please don't come after us in the future!" That's what this is.
But that doesn't sound like something they'd do. They're not that craven nor stupid enough to think this would prevent anyone from going after them.
