There was a poll a few years ago that revealed that, in America, Evangelical Christians were less pro-LGBT than Muslims. Muslim attitudes within the US were generally trending towards shitlib. That's probably backsliding now, in line with a generalized backslide of liberalism.
I'm not sure. Liberalism's backslide is happening in large part due to it adopting post-modern nonsense and the collapse of trust in liberal institutions thanks to their corruption becoming increasingly brazen.

Probably has to do with new waves of Muslims immigrants vastly out numbering the "Muslims" born in the US
