A slave would have been lucky to be sent to North America. The alternatives, the Caribbean, South America and the Middle East, are some of the worst forms of slavery ever seen on this planet. Also in NA people were paying 10x more for an African slave than an Irish slave.
North America only received about 15% of the total human 'cargo' of the slave trade, yet we are the only ones who are guilty because of that.
I know. I’ve tried to explain this to people and it goes nowhere. Thomas Sowell has a good video breaking down the world history of slavery. I think they should teach that in schools. Slavery all over the world. Plus the west African leaders who sold them to the Europeans get zero grief. I think it’s time we stop re hashing what the western world has done
