And he didn't. We can't undo history nor do we control him. So what are our options in that situation?
We huff and puff and be mad it didn't work out perfectly in our favor from the outset, or we try to salvage the situation and, surprisingly, end up in a better place than we initially were.
One gets results, the other is just being mad we didn't win the "culture war" in a single day. Which considering it took near a century to fall this far, its downright crazy to think we will even win in our lifetime.
Our options? Do whatever you please. I'm not going to patronize or praise someone for taking half measures to un censor common sense.
Your way doesn't get results. It constantly gives ground in the name of compromise. And in my entire lifetime I've seen so called conservatives give away so much ground that I don't recognize the country anymore.
No more compromise. Not ever. Not on anything. Stop giving inches.
It got results right here, I'd like for you to explain in concrete terms how what he just did isn't a result for us. That's the problem I keep trying to portray to you. This wasn't a "compromise." It literally achieved its goals and went even further beyond them. Elon was the one compromising when we asked something from him.
In a perfect world Elon wouldn't be a tool, but he is and he is the big cheese there. So the only two options are to tantrum about him being a tool while woeing about how fucked the world is and that you didn't get your exact way the first time, or attempt to sway him to our favor. And if everyone did it your way, he would have censored it and we'd have lost the ground you are mad about other people giving up.
You can sit there stewing in your philosophizing about principles all you want, but it just makes you impotent to any chances to improve anything.
Because something that should never have happened only kind of did.
But it did, we can't change that and we had zero ability to really stop it happening. That's the point I'm making here.
So we can only respond from there, and our response brought us back from negative and caused no ground to be ceded. That's a victory because the alternative was straight losing, because it "never happening" wasn't an option to begin with and won't be for a long time.

It didn't get results right here. What you have here is, at best, a neutral result and not a positive one.
Because something that should never have happened only kind of did. Congrats? If you think that's a victory you're demented.
