Credence Clearwater Revival originally sang this and their version is good. I enjoyed Ike and Tina’s as well. I guess I’m out of touch with pop culture because I don’t get the appeal of Lizzo. Unless supporting her gives you virtue signal points
"Unless supporting her gives you virtue signal points"
It is this. I don't think she is awful, but she also isn't remarkable. She toiled in anonymity until she was well past the age a pop singer usually "makes it." And her massive spike in popularity just happened to coincide with the powers that be glorifying morbid obesity.
I see. I’m way out of touch with what’s current. This morning I was listening to the Carter Family and Muddy Waters. Overweight black women who can sing are pretty common (just visit a black church). I don’t hate her personally but I’m so sick of the fawning praise and how she is the face of the “obesity is a-okay” message
I like them both. Overall I have all the albums of CCR. As for Ike and Tina I like Tina’s solo work more although I do like Ike’s Rocket 88 which is one of the songs that debated to be the first rock and roll song
That early era of Rock & Roll is very interesting because you can see the genera coming together from all over the place. It was a real, proper, viral cultural phenomenon.
I'm actually kind of offended by the "modern" car in the back. It's insulting.
That is a nice car! I know it’s an over simplification to say rock and roll is like blues and country having a baby but that’s the easiest way to define it. I love that era of music as well

Ain't nobody supporting her like her bra.
That bra is da real MVP here.
Ha! That would be a perfect joke for the SNL news segment. I think Norm Macdonald would say it
Let's do a comparison and see what you all think:

If I had a car that looked this good, I'd make a song about it too.
