Ohhh. It’s been a very long time since I actively tried to talk that way (not around my parents or they would’ve killed me) so I’m very rusty with ebonics or ghetto talk.
I envy you. Between the ghetto blacks, the barely literate Hispanics, and the run of the mill idiots, there are days where I don't hear the Queen's English spoken.
When I was little my mom got a Shakespeare for kids book with illustrations and I fell in love with old English. At church I’m one of the few that still use the King James Version.
I was a voracious reader as a kid. (Still am.) I used to have the Penguin illustrated copies of all the classics: Moby Dick, The Three Musketeers... and I grew up Southern Baptist, so the AV1611 was the Bible.
My grandfather believed any non KJV version was the work of the devil. You still Southern Baptist? I grew up non denominational but got to a Lutheran Church now. Missouri Synod (conservative sect)
