I haven't been up to date with Russia, is there a civil war happening?
No, seems there was an incursion into their territory from the Ukraine side, Ukraine are trying to claim it was an internal issue within Russia while Russia is trying to claim that was terrorist hinting at links to Ukraine
Some injuries but no fatalities mentioned, the village it occurred in is still locked down and residents can't return yet.
It was clearly an attack by Ukrainian forces, even the US state department tacitly admitted it by saying “we don’t condone these attacks but Ukraine can defend itself the way it sees fit” or something. They sent 46 men on an absolutely hopeless suicide mission to try and score some PR/ distract from the recent loss of Bakhmut.
Which if it is, was the DUMBEST decision ever since you've effectively opened up Russia's policy of 'you've invaded Russian territory, trial to live has expired' and technically nukes are on the table
Technically shitting the bed is much more on the table, it's not even the first cross border raid by these Nazi gentlemen (or second), just the first one with tanks and helicopters, and it's becoming normal.
Also I see you forgot how they not only have "invaded Russian territory" but have "conquered and occupied" it since 2022, including Kherson city and all of "Kharkov" Oblast. Which is also how they crossed the pre-annexation border from the Kharkiv direction now lmao
