I’m actually going to just talk about the whole Contrapoints thing because people brought it up:
I honestly forgot Contra was MTF to be honest until I was linked a video by a friend a few weeks ago, because like Blaire White, if I saw Contra walking down the street and I didn’t already know who Contra was, I would have no reason to assume that Contra was born with a penis.
I know a lot more trans people than average, mainly because it’s simply a consequence of going to IRL tournaments for fighting games, and in my personal experience with them, it’s been fine, but maybe part of it is also since I have autism, and have been bullied for most of my life until I got to college and started competing, I simply treat most people how I wanna be treated and so end up calling them what they want to be called.
My experience however has actually made me a lot more aware of who is and who isn’t trans, but I tend to just ignore it because I thought a butch chick was trans once and I hated myself for it, so that “radar” goes on and off most of the time. I’ll make this a more active/detailed post at some point, I just generally tend to call most trans people what they say they wanna be called because of my prior experiences with bullying and such, plus I’ve been doing more research into the whole issue because it affects some of my friends and damn it’s just so damn complex.
I had to look Contrapoints up. Yes I can see what you mean. Blair White is clearly a dude though, especially when he speaks. Actually in the past I might have taken Blair for a real woman, but nowadays that caked-on makeup look is the tell-tale sign of tranny (bonus points if they wear a choker) and I just assume it's a MtF until proven otherwise.
You are free to call people whatever you want, but consider that people trying to make you (through social pressure) call them a title they demand - especially one not based in reality - is a form of bullying too. And like masking up for the flu, you will be normalizing a certain behavior among people around you.
The make-up thing, I’ve always been like “meh” when it comes to that point, because I can go look like 200-300 brunettes on Twitter or Instagram that have that sort of make up, look at their OnlyFans leaks, and see that they have vaginas, so I tend to not assume MtF just because of that sort of look.
And with the thing as a whole, god, I wouldn’t wish gender dysphoria on my worst enemy, considering how I see certain things with my friends, the whole situation is just a mess and I wish there was a better solution, and that we didn’t have this whole thing of people trying to transition children, but life is a dumpster fire.
Edit: Ended up watching a Blaire White video just because you mentioned that you believe even from Blaire’s voice that it’s clear that Blaire was born with a penis and I…Idk, I just don’t think that’s clear at all, especially with where Blaire’s from and lives, in Southern California. Maybe it’s the vocal fry shit, but I believe I could find people in Southern California born with vaginas who have voices similar to Blaire White.
I’m also using names repeatedly instead of pronouns because I just don’t wanna have a debate on it if I don’t have time, although I would openly call Blaire White and Contrapoints women IRL.
