Many people hate the fact that a franchise aimed at women, written by a woman and directed by a woman, made millions of dollars.

The younger generations were laughing constantly about it. The relationships were cringy and borderline abusive, and the mythos was an absurd fanfiction that tainted vampires and werewolves for a whole generation. Oh, and the love interests were both underage (being an immortal teenager still means you're a teenager) yet grown woman all over the world were fauning over them.
