I think the data is quite clear, the younger generation does not in any large extent read the comics,their interaction with the American comics is through movies and series and cross over events in games.
It’s the same as the “I love nerds” a decade ago. They hop on the dumbest fads and replicate, this is how “gender identity” has exploded in younger kids who are just straight but won’t say it because it’s “not hip”.
I blame the whole “I love nerds” thing with ruining nerd culture. Making stuff cool that was once niche or seen as nerdy was terrible. You get worthless writers. I doubt whoever wrote the comic that was posted even likes comic books or look at Rings of Power. None of those hacks like Tolkien. I guess Witcher is another prime example

I get the same impression about all the new Star Trek series. They’re all made by people who’ve watched like 10 episodes.
